Covid 19 Testing Update - 15th March 2021
You should all have had confirmed, by your teacher, the date that your whole group returns to college for teaching or you have already done so for priority practical work. We appreciate how hard you are working and look forward to seeing you all back in a safe way. We need to update you on the testing options. There are 2 groups below - please find the right one for you to get the information you need. Our wellbeing support is here for all of you and details are added at the bottom of this page.
A: Your group has been agreed to return before the Easter holidays (29th March - 9th April) - the following applies to you:
There is a very high demand for testing on campus, from the students who have returned to complete priority practical work. If you would like a Covid-19 test you will need to follow one of the below options:
a) You have completed a consent form to request a test on site, as sent to you by your teacher.
b) You may wish to book into a Community Testing Centre (see below) and your teacher can tell you if you are in one of these groups.
c) You can collect home tests from 22nd – 26th March (Monday-Friday) 9am-4pm from College Reception (in a COVID safe way).
B: Your group is returning to campus for the first time after the Easter holidays (29th March – 9th April) - the following applies to you:
You may wish to take a Covid-19 test before you return to college after the Easter Holidays. If you wish to do so, you will need to:
a) Book in for a test with one of the local Community Testing Centres as soon as possible. This means you can get two tests through local testing centres before returning. Please see testing centre links below.
b) You collect home tests from 22nd – 26th March (Monday-Friday) 9am-4pm from College Reception (in a COVID safe way).
c) Once students return to campus after the Easter holidays all tests will be by home kits available from college.

Information about home testing
From 22nd – 26th March (Monday – Friday) 9am-4pm
the home test kits will be available for you to pick up from College Reception.
The kits will allow you to take 2 tests per week and provides instructions on how to do the test and how to record the results.
The test is called a “Home Testing Kit” and is designed by the Government to make it as easy to use as possible. You can carry out the test yourself, which is a throat and nose swab.
