    Your NCFE Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity will:

    • Use a range of delivery methods across all units
    • Provide you with realistic insights into the world of work and opportunities to improve your performance
    • Provide you with a range of learning resources to support with your studies
    • Provide optional units to complete, depending on your personal interest or career aspirations
    • Offer a variety of progression routes and help towards entry criteria for university application

  • Why NCFE?

    While completing these qualifications, learners may develop the knowledge, understanding and essential skills employers look for in employees. These range from familiar ‘key skills’ such as team working, independent learning and problem solving, to more tricky-to-measure skills such as:
    • an appreciation for appropriate behaviour and dress 

    • appropriate interpersonal skills 

    • communicating with professional colleagues/peers and/or hierarchical seniors 

    • supporting other aspiring employees 

    • personal manners and deportment 

    • understanding work practices and how different roles and departments function within an organisation. 

    NCFE qualifications will:
    • focus on the study of the sport and physical activity sector 

    • offer breadth and depth of study, through a specific pathway

    • provide opportunities to acquire a number of practical and technical skills.

    Qualification objectives
    The objectives of these qualifications are to:
    • allow learners to gain an in-depth understanding of the sport and physical activity sector 

    • give learners the opportunity to investigate career opportunities in the sport and physical activity sector 

    • allow learners to choose content which relates to their own interests, aspirations and progression choices.

    • Level 2 Diploma in Sport (Working in the Sport and Leisure Industry)

    • Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity (Working in Sport and Leisure)

    • Career information and progression pathways in sport

      Progression opportunities
      Learners who achieve these qualifications could progress to:
      • NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training 

      • NCFE Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Personal Training 

      • NGB coaching awards Apprenticeships in various sectors within sport and physical activity 

      • L2 Gym instructor award

      • degree in Sport and Exercise Science 

      • degree in Outdoor Adventure or Leadership 

      • degree in Sport and Leisure

    • Facilities

      As part of the East Coast College you will have full use of our Sport facilities which include:

      • A fully equipped gym 
      • Use of Leisure centre and Sports hall (waterlane)
      • Barnards Meadow (3G Football pitch)

      As part of the teaching and learning for your NCFE Sport course, we look to provide students with the units and extra curricular activities to use the facilities. Full inductions and specific units will allow to learn more about the facilities and be able to use them for your own personal use.

        Our college gym instructor, Connor Wright has put together a power point which has several workouts on. There are a mixture of body weight exercises and exercises using weights. Please have a go at them, if you have any training programs that you would like to share please feel free to do so.
